Our Pregnancy Yoga & Birth Preparation classes are welcoming and friendly. Classes, which are tailored to meet your needs, help relieve common pregnancy ailments, prepare you for brith and you can meet other mums-to-be! We always include Birth Breathing techniques to teach you how to breathe, move and relax for labour and birth. You can strengthen your body and increase your flexibility. Classes always help calm the mind with our fantastic guided relaxation and mediations. It really is an all round comprehensive approach, bringing the best in nourishing yoga together with the latest in scientific evidence.
Classes are suitable from 15 weeks (if you are brand new to yoga, or begin earlier if you are familiar with yoga) to full term. If you are familiar with yoga or have experience with other physical practices such as dancing or pilates and feel very body aware and need to move, you may be able to join our classes earlier, just check with your doctor or midwife and then contact the teacher in your area directly.
Birth Preparation (complete Antenatal Education)
This all encompassing birth education programme is best to do from 26 weeks onwards. Uniquely, this course combines the best in yoga and meditative practices perfect for helping during birth - so as well as learning all the facts about birth, you will also learn ways to breathe, move and relax to help you with about and birth. It perfectly complements what you learn in our pregnancy yoga classes or via hypno-birthing courses. Essentially, we cover EVERYTHING you need to know to prepare for birth!
A wonderful way to bond with your baby, regain your strength, connect with others and feel great, one day at a time. These classes are specially designed to allow you to safely practice yoga with your baby by your side, or joining in. Or if you have some child care, come along and enjoy some well-deserved you time, child-free.
Classes are suitable from 6 weeks after a vaginal birth, or 8 weeks after a c-section, until your baby is on the move. As with any exercise after birth, it is always a good idea to get the all clear from your doctor before you start classes. Ask them to check whether you have Diastasis Recti (separated tummy muscles).

What makes LushTums classes special?
Our lovely, expert LushTums classes provide nurturing, active, safe and supportive classes, offering a space for women during a time of great change - whether that's through pregnancy, in preparing for birth or during life as a mother. We teach fantastic tried and tested yoga practices that are useful and easy 'life tools' that you can use 'off the mat' - these really help improve your physical, mental and emotional health. Giving you an opportunity to relax and calm the mind, enables you to 'fill up' and feel nourished and supported. This means everyone leaves class feeling reconnected to themselves, grounded and ready to cope with life's challenges and stresses with much more resilience, calm and perspective.
Because we really need this! As women, as pregnant ladies, as mothers, we need time out for ourselves. We need head space. We need to process the fact we are 'pregnant' or where ever we are at with 'life's challenges and stresses' and all that brings. We need to relax. We need to do this for our mental health and emotion balance. We need to connect with others. We need to feel part of a community. We all need more support, even if our lives are full and loving, an extra layer of support goes a long way - and latest research and evidence clearly shows us that this is not only important for us, as women, but by extension, this helps us better support our families, greatly benefitting our babies and children and that this positively influences our child rearing practices, leading directly to social improvements, happier future generations and a more peaceful society at large. The power to change the world and make it a better place rests in our hands, as parents to be and parents, so lets get together and make that positive change happen over the next generation.
Not just yoga for grown ups, we have children's yoga too:
Going beyond regular children sensory or play activities, WiggleBums also helps parents & carers connect with themselves more fully in their role and in turn enables better attachment and bonding.
WiggleBums classes are carefully and creatively crafted fun & exploratory yoga, play and sensoryfor children aged 1 year to pre-schooler AND their grown ups! You'll also find classes available in nurseries and primary schools with children up to aged 12.
Going beyond regular play activities, WiggleBums encourages development and helps parents and carers connect with themselves in their roles as care-givers; enabling children to grow and their parents and carers to understand the immense power and impact our thoughts, words and behaviour have on our children. Understanding that how we think, speak and act influences our children both now and for their future is central to these fun and imaginative yoga classes for kids. Our classes help foster feelings of security, confidence and happiness throughout early life, with tremendous benefits for our children as they become teens and adults. Think of this time as critical for laying the foundations for our children’s futures.
All this is beautiful woven into the fabric of the class using yoga, story-telling, movement, music, song, interaction, inspiration and free-flow creative exploration. Following a familiar format each week, each class explores a new 'story' and new 'resource' that delights the children, and each term a new song. Children and parents are encouraged to share this experience today and love their time at class so much that often the themes and play continue for both at home!
These classes offer a supportive and nourishing space as much for parents as for little ones to enable everyone to grow to their full potential with deeper relationships and connections with each other. Book your course now!
Some of our teachers are also trained specialists in Baby Massage, and offer classes and courses in their local area - check for Suzanne's classes just outside Manchester and Claire's classes in Prestwick in Ayrshire. Baby Massage benefits both you and your little one hugely and is a wonderful opportunity to nurture your bond and support their healthy development. It has also been shown to help aid relaxation and promote sleep, and provide relief from wind, colic and constipation. For more information contact your local teacher.
