Cat Bellini,
LushTums teacher South London

When did you first come across LushTums?

Last year on my quest to find a yoga school who specialises in pregnancy yoga. Having researched online I found a few but after my conversation with Clare I knew that LushTums was the right place for me to study.

Why did you decide to train with us?

Clare M really, I researched LushTums on line and came across an interview with Clare on Youtube and the way she spoke about what she was doing with LushTums really resonated with me. I then went on to have a phone conversation with her and that was it! I knew this was the right path to something I had been wanting to do for a long time, which was being a yoga teacher. I just hadn't know the journey of a woman from pregnancy to beyond would be so rewarding!

What is your favourite part of being a LushTums Teacher?

Holding space for an all women class. Hearing when what we teach resonates with someone and more importantly helps them. Seeing the babies after!

What do you enjoy doing when you are not teaching awesome classes?

Crafting! I enjoy drawing simple illustrations and creating lino cut prints, as well as hand drawn type. I also enjoy my own yoga practice and have some great teachers who I constantly learn from.

What piece of information would you most like to share with a new Mum or Mum-to-be?

hmmm, there's so much... learn to breathe deep and take those moments to really sink into yourself and centre. That and - knowing how to relax your pelvic floor is just as important as strengthening it! Wish someone had mentioned that one to me...

What would you say to someone thinking about training with us?

I would 100% recommend. Training with you guys opened my eyes and heart to more than I realised it would. I thought I would leave with a new skill under my belt but what I left with was much more, a knew understanding of what holding space is, the philosophy behind yoga profoundly affected me. I left the course with a much deeper, richer understanding of everything I thought I knew, and with a thirst to keep on learning and developing. Who wouldn’t want that!

What do you love best about the area you teach in?

There's a real hub of pregnant women and activity that goes on in my area, I also think there is a huge potential to grow a community between everyone who offers maternity and post natal care and that excites me.
