CLASSES & COURSES

Booking Classes

  • Please find your nearest class and the right day and time for you. For many classes you can book easily via the Timetable, which uses a secure third-party online booking system. If you are new to the website you will be asked to create an account. It's quick and straightforward and ensures your space in our popular classes.
  • For all other classes, reserve your place by contacting your teacher directly. Payment is required in advance by online banking or cash at class.
  • Students must arrive at least 10 minutes before the class start time. Late arrival may result in the student not being admitted or your place being given to someone on the Waiting List.
  • Classes bought with any LushTums teacher or location are only redeemable with that teacher and are not transferable to other teachers or students.
  • Intro Offers and Class Packages must be used before the expiry date. No rollovers.
  • Be sure to opt in to emails and notifications when you sign up, so our booking system can send you reminders about expiry dates and class changes.
  • Occasionally Pregnancy Classes in a package may be rolled over to Postnatal Courses on a case-by-case basis. Please check directly with your teacher.

Cancelling Classes

  • Different teachers have different cancellation windows ~ some have a 12-hour policy, others 24 hours and others 48 hours. This notice is required so that someone on the Waiting List can take the space. Any missed sessions without the appropriate notice will be charged as if attended.
  • Please log into your account to cancel your own classes. LushTums and our teachers cannot accept cancellations in person or via email, telephone or text, unless previously agreed with a specific teacher.
  • If you do not attend a session you booked online, your ability to book online may be suspended.
  • Teachers occasionally change at short notice. No refunds or exchanges will be given if there is a cover teacher and the cancellation policy still applies.
  • 5-class packages have a 6-week expiry and 10-class packages have a 3-month expiry, beginning on the date of the first class booked.
  • Postnatal Yoga and Women's Yoga run as short term-time only courses. Missed classes cannot be rolled over to the next term.
  • Check the Timetable for the latest details or contact your teacher directly, and be sure to use all your classes before they expire.

Cancellation of Courses & Workshops

  • All courses, such as our Yoga for Birth Workshop or Antenatal Education Course, need to be booked and paid for in full in advance to secure your space.
  • Cancellations made less than 14 days before the course or workshop date cannot be refunded.
  • Cancellations made more than 14 days in advance can receive a 50% refund, or you can transfer to an alternative course or workshop date.

Participation & Safety

By participating in any of our classes you are agreeing that you understand the following. Starting our classes is no different to starting any other form of exercise and the same guidelines apply:

  • If you are pregnant and not used to regular exercise, we recommend that you move carefully and wait until after 15–16 weeks before starting class. If you have a regular practice, good body awareness and feel safe starting earlier, please let your teacher know when booking.
  • If you are postnatal, please wait until 6 weeks after a vaginal birth or 8 weeks after a caesarean birth before beginning our classes. Please ask your doctor at your postnatal check-up about diastasis recti, SPD, hernia or any prolapse and let your teacher know before booking.
  • If you are coming to Women's Yoga, Postnatal Yoga or Pregnancy Yoga, please tell your teacher about any conditions, injuries, operations or medications that may affect your practice. If in doubt, please consult your doctor, midwife or healthcare professional.
    • Yoga is a gentle, personal practice, and you are always in charge of your own body. Please listen to it, rest whenever you need to, and only do what feels right for you and your baby. Classes can sometimes bring up feelings and emotions, and that's completely normal; please look after yourself and let your teacher know if you need support. By joining a class, you accept responsibility for your own health, wellbeing and emotional responses, and you agree to release the facilitator and venue from liability for any injuries, emotional responses or health-related issues that may arise from your participation, as far as the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law. By completing your booking, you confirm that you have read and understood this disclaimer and accept full responsibility for your participation.

Booking Agreement

When booking you will be asked to agree to the following:

  • I agree to follow the LushTums cancellation policy and understand that when I practise in class I am responsible for my own body and wellbeing.
  • I understand that information published on the LushTums website is provided for the use of its visitors and that, although care has been taken to ensure technical and factual accuracy, some errors may occur. No guarantee is given of the accuracy or completeness of information on these pages.
  • I am aware that LushTums may change the information on its website from time to time and LushTums shall have no liability arising from the use of this information by any party.
  • I understand that LushTums does not warrant the information on this website in any way and in particular no warranty is given that the website, its contents or hypertext links are virus-free or uncontaminated.
  • I agree to make my own virus checks and take my own precautions. LushTums excludes all liability for contamination or damage caused by any virus or electronic transmission.
  • I understand that LushTums or my teacher may occasionally take photos or videos in class for marketing and training purposes. If I would prefer not to be included, I can let my teacher know and this will be respected.
  • I will let LushTums know of any change to my home address, email address or contact phone number. Without such notice, all communications will be assumed to have been received within five days of being sent to the last address given.
  • Any marketing, educational or other materials produced by LushTums in connection with the classes and services and made available to students remain the property of Clare Maddalena at all times and are subject to copyright.

TEACHER TRAININGS

Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with the terms below. By applying for any teacher training course with LushTums you are agreeing to comply with these terms and conditions.

Booking & Payment

  • Teacher Trainings must be paid in full in advance, or by a payment plan agreed with LushTums. In either case, a third of the course fee is a non-refundable deposit to secure your place.
  • Payment plans must be completed within the timeframe agreed with LushTums. If full payment has not been received, we reserve the right to pursue legal action, including recovering any costs incurred.
  • If for some unforeseeable reason you cannot continue with the training once it has started, no refunds will be made and payment plans will need to be paid in full.
  • In exceptional circumstances, on a case-by-case basis, our cancellation policies may be altered at the discretion of LushTums.
  • We reserve the right to update this policy at any time.

Completing Your Training

  • Once your course begins you are required to complete all self-study components and submit your assignments by the completion date. Failure to do so will result in you not receiving your certificate.
  • You must complete your training and submit all assignments within 12 months in order to qualify.
  • Any break in your studies or teaching of more than 12 months needs to be discussed with us in advance and may require you to complete a low-cost Refresher Course on your return to teaching, to maintain the quality of our teachers and their offerings.

Copyright & Content

  • All training course content, video links and manuals are shared with you for your own study and reference only. They must not be shared with others, as this is a breach of copyright and of our agreement.
  • All work produced for assignments must be in your own words. Any sources used must be credited.
  • Copyright of all LushTums content is owned by Clare Maddalena and you cannot pass it off as your own.
  • We ask you to honour these teachings by recognising and crediting the LushTums brand name, displaying the logo and linking back to our websites where possible. This creates a recognisable mark and standard of excellence that people can rely on and trust in the pregnancy, birth and motherhood world.
  • The LushTums name, trademark and logos are owned by Clare Maddalena. Their use is permitted on a case-by-case basis and permission can be withdrawn at any time.

Recordings

  • Live training sessions on Zoom are recorded. By taking part, you agree that recordings in which you appear or can be heard may be used by LushTums as future training materials and in short clips on social media.
  • If you would prefer not to be included, please let us know in writing before your course begins or at any point during it. We will then keep you out of any recordings we share, by editing you out or turning off your camera and microphone during recorded sessions.
  • You can also ask us to stop using recordings of you in future at any time by emailing hello@lushtums.co.uk. We will remove you from future use, although we may not be able to withdraw content that has already been shared.
  • All recordings remain the property of Clare Maddalena and must not be copied, downloaded or shared by trainees.

Certification & Independence

  • Once you receive your LushTums qualification certificate and begin teaching, you are responsible for your own insurance, registration with FEDANT and any and all tax with HMRC as an independent, self-employed teacher.

The LushTums Teachers Community

Once qualified, you are warmly invited to join our Teachers Community. Membership gives you inclusion on the LushTums website, a LushTums email address, invites to monthly Q&A Power Hours, access to a private teachers WhatsApp group and special discounts on future trainings and CPDs. There is a set-up fee of £99 followed by a small monthly fee of £45.

Membership is subject to the Location Guidelines and Code of Conduct below.

Location Guidelines

So that we can support each other and avoid direct competition, we kindly ask all LushTums teachers to consider the following when setting up or changing their classes:

  • Check first. Before setting up a new class, please speak with any existing LushTums teachers in your area and let LushTums know your plans.
  • Distance. Ideally, new classes should be at least a 15-minute drive from the classes of an existing LushTums teacher, unless agreed otherwise with that teacher.
  • Days and times. Please avoid running the same type of class on the same day and at the same time as another LushTums teacher in the same area.

Where teachers are close to each other, we encourage working together on days, times, venues and shared marketing, so that everyone benefits.

Trainee Teacher & LushTums Teacher Code of Conduct

Trainees and teachers are required to follow all LushTums codes of conduct and procedures and are expected to behave professionally at all times to uphold the good name of LushTums and our community. Standards of conduct include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining the highest level of teaching standards as a representative of LushTums, ensuring you are up to date on the latest techniques and teaching according to the LushTums Method.
  • Respecting the Location Guidelines above. Treat other local teachers as you would like to be treated and work collaboratively with LushTums teachers in your area, not competitively. This may look like teaching at different venues, in different parts of the town or city or on different days and times, having open and kind conversations with each other, collaborating on marketing or attending events together.
  • Seeking help and advice whenever needed. No question is too small.
  • Taking responsibility for your own health and wellbeing and letting LushTums know of any illness or injury that may affect your ability to teach.
  • Treating everyone with respect and compassion at all times. Any form of bullying will be treated seriously and may lead to the end of our working relationship.
  • Following good karma by helping others in the Teachers Community. Harassment of the LushTums team or peers will not be tolerated.
  • Being punctual for all classes and finishing on time. For teacher training, all sessions must be attended and any absences agreed in advance.
  • Responding to client requests (emails, texts etc.) within 24 hours to maintain professional standards.
  • Treating all LushTums property and the property of others with respect.
  • Following Health and Safety rules at all times.
  • Social media and PR: crediting LushTums and tagging us whenever sharing our content, ethos, values or philosophy. This includes naming your classes correctly, for example: LushTums Pregnancy Yoga ~ LushTums Antenatal Education: Prepare for Birth & Baby ~ LushTums Mum & Baby Postnatal Yoga ~ LushTums Beyond Postnatal ~ LushTums Women's Yoga ~ LushTums Mother's Yoga. It also includes tagging @LushTums and referencing LushTums in any social media content you share that you originally obtained through LushTums.
  • No breach of client or peer confidentiality will be tolerated.
  • No smoking or being under the influence of alcohol or substances while teaching or participating in courses.

LushTums teachers are independent, self-employed teachers and are responsible for their own working relationships with each other. We ask that any differences between teachers are resolved directly, through open and kind conversation. LushTums is not able to mediate disputes between teachers. However, serious breaches of this Code of Conduct, including bullying, harassment, breach of confidentiality or misuse of the LushTums brand, may lead to a conduct warning, dismissal and removal from the Community and website.

Notice: If you decide to stop teaching, please give LushTums one month's notice so we can update our website and remove you from the Community. If you act in a way that is not in line with this Code of Conduct, LushTums may give immediate notice, after which you may no longer use the LushTums name, brand or logo.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

  • LushTums cannot be held responsible for any particular session, teacher or item of equipment not being available for any reason. LushTums reserves the right to change sessions, teachers and equipment without notice and will not be liable for any loss caused by such changes, except where such loss cannot be excluded by law.
  • Students are responsible for their own health, wellbeing and emotional responses, and for making sure they are able to take part in any class, course or programme. Please listen to your body and consult your doctor or midwife before beginning if you are unsure. As far as the law allows, students release LushTums, the facilitator and the venue from liability for any injuries, emotional responses or health-related issues arising from their participation, and for loss of or damage to their property.
  • Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.
