  • We only hold your data to keep in touch with you: we share news and information about what is happening at LushTums or locally in your area and share educational materials with you; we hold your data to help you manage your bookings and classes through our third party online booking system provider; and we help you connect with other mums and mums-to-be in your area through our Facebook groups, pages and other social connections like local, private What’s App groups that your teachers might have created for you.

  • Your personally identifiable information is kept secure. Only authorised employees, agents and contractors (who have agreed to keep information secure and confidential) have access to this information. All emails and newsletters from our sites allow you to opt out of further mailings.

  • All emails and newsletters from our sites allow you to opt out of further mailings at any time. You can also send us a 'request to delete' all information or data we have about you at any time. 

  • LushTums will never sell trade, rent, exchange or otherwise share your personal information with any other person, company or organisation.

LushTums is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it.

This policy applies to lushtums.co.uk and all LushTums services including teacher training, local classes, workshops and email communications. It should be read alongside our Terms & Conditions.

What Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of personal information:

Information you give us directly:

  • Your name and email address when you sign up to our mailing list

  • Your name, email, phone number and payment details when you book a class, workshop or training

  • Information you share in booking forms, intake forms or health questionnaires (which may include relevant health information to enable us to support you safely in class)

  • Any information you share with us directly by email, phone or social media

Information collected automatically when you use our website:

  • Pages visited, time spent on the site, referring URLs and other browsing data (via cookies and analytics tools — see Cookies section below)

  • Device type, browser and approximate location (country/region level)

Why We Collect It and How We Use It

We collect and use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To process your bookings and communicate with you about classes, workshops or trainings you have booked

  • To send you our email newsletter and updates about LushTums news, classes, trainings and educational content — only where you have opted in to receive these

  • To respond to your enquiries and provide customer support

  • To manage teacher training applications, assignments and certification

  • To improve our website and understand how people find and use it

  • To run targeted advertising campaigns on platforms such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — see Third-Party Tools section below

  • To comply with our legal obligations

Our lawful basis for processing your data is:

  • Contract — where processing is necessary to fulfil a booking or training agreement

  • Legitimate interests — for example, understanding how our website is used and improving our services

  • Consent — for marketing emails and cookies; you can withdraw consent at any time

Third-Party Tools and Services

We use a small number of carefully chosen third-party tools to run LushTums. Each has its own privacy policy and data practices:

  • Squarespace (website platform)

Our website is hosted on Squarespace. Squarespace may collect certain technical data about site visitors. See squarespace.com/privacy for details.

  • Squarespace Email Platform (email marketing)

We use Squarespace to manage our mailing list and send newsletters. Your email address and name are stored with them when you subscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. See their privacy policy for full details.

  • Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram advertising)

Our website uses the Meta Pixel, a small piece of code that allows us to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram, and to show relevant ads to people who have visited our site or expressed interest in our services. The Meta Pixel may collect data about your browsing behaviour on our site. You can manage your ad preferences at facebook.com/ads/preferences.   • Google Analytics (website analytics)

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. This collects anonymised data about pages visited, time on site and general location. It does not identify you personally. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

  • Online booking system (class and workshop bookings)

We (all LushTums teachers) use a third-party booking systems to manage class and workshop bookings. Your name, email and payment details are processed through these system. Please check with your local teacher and refer to their privacy policy for details of how they handle your data.

  • WhatsApp and Facebook Groups (community connection)

Your local LushTums teacher may invite you to join a private WhatsApp group or local Facebook group. Participation in these is entirely optional. Please be aware that these platforms have their own data and privacy policies which are separate from this policy.

  • Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We use cookies for the following purposes:

  • Essential cookies — necessary for the website to function (e.g. remembering your session)

  • Analytics cookies — to understand how our site is used (Google Analytics)

  • Advertising cookies — to measure and improve the effectiveness of our Meta advertising campaigns (Meta Pixel)

When you first visit our site you will be asked to consent to non-essential cookies. You can change your cookie preferences at any time via the cookie settings link in the footer of our website. You can also manage or delete cookies through your browser settings — please see your browser's help pages for guidance.

Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of our website.

Who We Share Your Data With

We will never sell, trade, rent or exchange your personal information with any third party for their own marketing purposes.

We share your data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • With third-party service providers who process data on our behalf (such as our email platform, booking system and website host) — all under data processing agreements

  • With Meta and Google for advertising and analytics purposes, as described above

  • If required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal request

Health Information

Where you share health information with us (for example, in a class booking or training intake form) we treat this with the utmost care. This information is used solely to enable us to support you safely and appropriately. It is not shared with third parties except where required by law. You have the right to request that we delete this information at any time.

How Long We Keep Your Data

  • Mailing list data — held until you unsubscribe or request deletion

  • Booking and transaction records — held for 7 years in line with HMRC requirements

  • Teacher training records — held for the duration of your training and for a reasonable period afterwards to support your certification

  • Health and intake forms (paper copies) — destroyed within 3 months of your last class or booking unless you request earlier deletion

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

  • The right to access — you can request a copy of the data we hold about you

  • The right to rectification — you can ask us to correct inaccurate data

  • The right to erasure — you can ask us to delete your data ('right to be forgotten')

  • The right to restrict processing — you can ask us to limit how we use your data

  • The right to data portability — you can ask for your data in a portable format

  • The right to object — you can object to us processing your data for marketing purposes

  • The right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time

To exercise any of these rights, please email hello@lushtums.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you feel your data has been handled inappropriately.

Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. Only authorised personnel have access to personal data, and all third-party providers we use are required to maintain appropriate security standards.

Please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. If you have any concerns about the security of your data, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Where changes are significant, we will notify you by email or by a prominent notice on our website. The date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent update. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
